Douglas N. Tietjen M.D.

Dr. Tietjen has been practicing with KCUC since 1999. A Missouri native, Dr. Tietjen attended the University of Missouri-Kansas City receiving his undergraduate and Medical Degree through the university’s six year program. Dr. Tietjen then attended the Mayo Clinic Graduate School of Medicine, receiving his training as a general surgery intern and then urology resident. During his six years at Mayo, Dr. Tietjen received training in all areas of urology including oncologic surgery, pediatric surgery, stone disease, infertility, and female pelvic floor repair. He spent one year performing research involving the human androgen receptor and authored numerous papers and academic publications.

As a board-certified urologist, Dr. Tietjen practices in our Lee’s Summit and Overland Park offices. He continues to treat all facets of urologic disease. He has also partnered with several area gynecologists and physical therapists to provide comprehensive surgical and medical treatment for female pelvic floor disorders including urinary incontinence and prolapse.

Dr. Tietjen is licensed in both Missouri and Kansas, is a member of the American Urologic Association, and diplomat of the American Board of Urology.
