Allan R. Weide M.D., F.A.C.S.
Dr. Weide has practiced urology in Kansas City for 32 years. He received his medical degree from the University of Kansas Medical School in 1968. After serving a rotating internship at Bethany Hospital, Kansas City, Kansas, for 1 year, he served as a Captain in the United States Air Force as a General Medical Officer for 2 years. He returned to Kansas City and completed a surgery and urology residency at the University of Missouri at Kansas City School of Medicine in 1975 and began practicing urology in North Kansas City that year.
Dr. Weide's special interest is prostate cancer and he introduced brachytherapy with Palladium 103 under ultrasound guidance to this area 13 years ago and is pursuing a 15 year study on this modality of treating localized prostate cancer.
Dr. Weide has been certified by the American Board of Urology since 1977. He is currently a member of the following professional organizations: The American Urological Association, the South Central Section of the American urological Association, the Kansas City Urological society, the American Association of Clinical Urologists, the Missouri State Medical Association, the Clay/Platte County Medical Society, the Metropolitan Medical Society, and the American Medical Association. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
