Cancer Runs Team Up for Big Success

Overland Park, KS — The 2014 ZERO Prostate Cancer Run/Walk was another big success. The fall events were held in 24 cities across the U.S. and raised more than 1.9 million dollars with nearly 12,000 participants, nationwide.

In Kansas City, The 2014 Zero Prostate Cancer Run/Walk, was held on Sunday October 26th, and marked the sixth year that Kansas City has participated in the Zero Prostate Cancer Run.

2014 marked the first time that The Zero Prostate Cancer Run/Walk teamed up with The OVERRUN Ovarian Cancer Foundation 5K Run/Walk which was held on Sunday November 2, 2014.

Here is the event rundown:

  • 513 participants (50 participated in both events)
  • Total income raised — $55,482
  • The Kansas City Prostate Cancer Foundation donated $12,500 to ZERO at the event to further their educational efforts, outreach efforts and screening events.
  • 65% of the participants have some connection to prostate cancer (caregiver, friend of a survivor, loved one of a survivor, survivor, physician or lost a loved one to prostate cancer)
